I emigrated to the USA from England in 2004 with my family and our dog, Heidi. I was born in Essex and moved to Manchester in 1987 where I subsequently met my wife of 34 years. Motorcycles have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Shortly after leaving school, I joined the British Army and trained as a mechanic. My first overseas posting was West Germany and I quickly bought a Dual Sport to explore the local area and the many miles of tracks and trails in the training areas.
Shortly after emigrating to the USA we bought two Can Am Outlander Max ATVs, Jan and I on one and our 2 teenagers on the other. We would spend most weekends exploring the stunning beauty of New Mexico where we still live.
A 2008 Kawasaki KLR 650 joined the family in 2012 after an MSF refresher course and it quickly became a hit with my wife Janet, so much so that she expressed an interest in a bigger more comfortable bike for longer adventures. We bought the first of many variations of Honda Gold Wings, a 1999 1500 SE in 2012.
We joined the GWRRA (Gold Wing Road Riders Association) in 2013 where we learnt many new skills and met many great people. This was where I learned how to plan and lead rides from some of the best riders I know. I have planned and lead Hundreds of rides since, from day trips to adventures across the lower 48.
I currently ride a 2018 Gold Wing Tour DCT after a stint on a Harley Ultra Limited CVO, both amazing machines well suited to extreme comfort touring. Whether just my wife and I exploring, or a group ride for a multi week trip, the satisfaction I get planning the trip and finding amazing places to stop and take in the scenery is huge.
I love touring but I also like a challenge. I have completed several Iron Butt’s and can assist, organize, or even ride with anyone wanting to take on an endurance challenge. My last Iron Butt ride was the Iron Butt Association’s Bun Burner 2K Gold, I completed just over 2000 miles in 29 ½ Hours.
My goal with Enchanted Motorcycle Tours is to give you all the tools you need to “Ride your ride your way” whether you wish to ride with the group, do your own thing, or have us plan a custom ride for you, I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and creating new memories.
